Gabe Mernoff

Young Activist, A Sweet Creation Youth Org

Gabe Mernoff has been a youth activist in the Providence area for about four years. As a Providence Schools student, he worked with the Providence Student Union and NAACP Youth Council on issues ranging from school construction to the Counselors Not Cops campaign to general volunteer work in the community. As a Brown college student in Providence, he has deepened his involvement locally on issues like gun-violence-prevention, housing, and civics education, and can often be found advocating at the State House. Additionally, he remains deeply passionate about youth empowerment in his current work with A Sweet Creation Youth Organization and the Youth Voice Subgroup of the African American Ambassadors for the City of Providence. He aims to continue his work on youth-empowerment and education-related issues and pursue a career in which he can work in the community as an ally for people—and particularly youth—of color.
